Behind this series of products, it cannot be separated from the technical support of Mr. Chen Xinde, the acoustic director known as the "king of dynamic driver". Recently, we had the opportunity to interview Mr. Chen Xinde and delve into his unique insights in the field of acoustic design and the story behind the EarAcoustic Audio brand.
Reporter: Hello Mr. Chen! Thank you very much for accepting our interview. Firstly, could you please introduce yourself and how you earned the title of "King of dynamic driver"?
Chen Xinde: Hello! I'm glad to have the opportunity to share with everyone. I have been engaged in the field of acoustic design for over 20 years, focusing on the in-depth research and development of various materials and technologies for dynamic coil units. Through continuous in-depth research and innovation, multiple dynamic coil technologies have been applied in reality, especially the application of dual magnets, which has gained the favor and love of many players and users. It has also helped many high-end HIFI audio brands gain greater market share and growth, achieving some results in the dynamic field, and has been jokingly referred to as the "king of dynamic driver" by some audiophiles who love dynamic sound. This joke is even more of a responsibility to me. Personally, I hope to continue moving forward in the future and contribute more to the headphone and audio industry.
Reporter: As the Acoustic Director of EarAcoustic Audio brand, what are your main responsibilities?
Chen Xinde: At EarAcoustic Audio, I am mainly responsible for the acoustic design and sound quality debugging of the entire brand. In the early stages of product development, it is necessary to work closely with the team to comprehensively plan and continuously conduct experiments on the matching of headphone units, cavities, diaphragms, and voice coils. Sound quality is the soul of headphones, requiring a lot of time and effort to study every detail, including the hardness and viscosity of the glue used, which needs to be tested N times to ensure that each product can present the best sound effect.
Reporter: As the core part of headphone sound quality, what unique insights and technological innovations do you have in the dynamic unit?
Chen Xinde: The design of the dynamic unit is indeed a very complex matter. I believe that to create an excellent dynamic coil unit, it is not only necessary to choose high-quality materials, but also to conduct in-depth research and optimization on the unit's structure, magnetic circuit system, and diaphragm characteristics. In EarAcoustic Audio products, we use multiple tuning methods. Including the rear cavity of the dynamic speaker, as well as the front and rear cavities of the earpiece, all need to be tuned to achieve a truly balanced curve and very durable headphones. Technological innovation is used to improve the performance of the dynamic coil unit, such as a new product equipped with a new type of silicon oxide+blue film ball top dynamic coil, which combines the characteristics of many materials and has high strength, good flexibility, and sound conductivity. Another optimization has been made to the magnetic circuit system of the unit, such as adopting a new generation of dual magnetic design with ultra-high frequency magnetic groups, which improves the magnetic flux and conversion efficiency, making the sound more natural, pure, transparent, relaxed, and balanced.
Reporter: As your representative technology in the field of dynamic coil research and application, could you please provide a detailed introduction to the advantages of this new generation of dual magnetic dynamic coil units with ultra-high frequency magnetic groups compared to traditional single magnetic circuit dynamic coil units?
Chen Xinde: The new dual magnetic dynamic coil unit with ultra-high frequency magnetic group can greatly improve the purity and dynamic range of sound quality: The dual magnetic design introduces an additional ultra-high frequency magnetic group system to increase the magnetic flux, allowing the voice coil to work under stronger magnetic fields. This not only improves the sensitivity of high-frequency sound, but also enhances the depth and intensity of low-frequency response through acoustic tuning, while ensuring clarity and transparency in the mid to high frequency range. Therefore, this new generation of dual magnetic coil units using silicon oxide and blue film ball tops can present purer, more natural, and wider dynamic range sound quality effects. Furthermore, it also achieves enhanced sound control, as the dual magnetic system has a stronger magnetic field strength, which correspondingly increases its control over the voice coil. This means that under rapidly changing music signals, the voice coil can respond more accurately and deliver sound details, reducing distortion and phase shift, thereby enhancing the overall sound quality performance. Another way is to improve and optimize energy conversion efficiency, which means that under the same power input, this new generation of units can produce excellent sound output, while reducing power consumption and unit heat generation, thereby extending the product's lifespan.
Reporter: We all know that the diaphragm is very important in the sound quality performance of the unit. So, what are the acoustic characteristics of the application of silicon oxide edge+blue film ball top in dual magnetic coil units?
Chen Xinde: Silicon oxide material should be used on the chip. We use the silicon oxide diaphragm as a hanging edge material, and its substrate is made of flexible material with excellent physical properties. Such as fast rebound, high hardness, high wear resistance, and good stability, it is used in the hanging edge part of the moving coil unit, which can effectively improve the stability of the unit during vibration, suppress distortion and resonance. At the same time, it can also optimize vibration response, making high notes more transparent.
The blue film ball top diaphragm adopts a very unique process, which is made by multi-layer sputtering technology. Its blue appearance is not only beautiful, but more importantly, it enhances the rigidity and toughness of the material. This design helps to improve the response speed and control force of the dynamic coil unit in the mid to low frequency range, while maintaining smoothness and delicacy in the high frequency range. The use of blue membrane ball top diaphragm can bring fuller low-frequency, clearer mid frequency, and smoother high-frequency performance, making the overall sound quality more balanced and natural. The development experiment of the blue film dome was inspired by the high pitched speaker in the Baohua 801S3 speaker.
Reporter: Will EarAcoustic Audio use other dynamic materials or new technologies in its future products?
Chen Xinde: Yes, I have been deeply developing and debugging various diaphragm materials and unit cavity architectures in the research and development process for a long time, including carbon edge diaphragms, diamond ball tops, etc. Different materials are first applied based on their unique physical properties. In addition, the new dynamic coil technology with different multi cavity matrices has also entered the application preparation process, and is likely to be applied in future flagship headphone models. Each unit needs to be matched with the acoustic positioning of the product and market demand for the best combination. The sound quality and listening experience of the headphones always come first, and we are committed to bringing the most authentic and delicate sound experience to audiophiles.
Reporter: You not only have profound expertise in dynamic technology, but also have unique insights into overall sound tuning. Can you share how you balance various properties of sound in EarAcoustic Audio products, such as deep low frequencies, full mid frequencies, and warm high frequencies?
Chen Xinde: Compared to unit development, sound tuning is not only an art, but also a rigorous science. At EarAcoustic Audio brand, we strive for natural and balanced sound, allowing every instrument and every note to be faithfully reproduced. In order to achieve this goal, we conduct extensive listening tests and data analysis during the sound tuning process to ensure that the low frequencies have sufficient volume without losing details, the mid frequencies are full without losing transparency, the high frequencies are clear and warm, and the overall sound quality is more balanced and natural. We adjust the material application parameters of the dynamic coil unit, optimize the cavity structure design, and use advanced digital spectrum signal instruments to assist in tuning, in order to finely control each frequency band of the sound, making the curve meet the standard and the sound reproduction accurate.
